This policy explains how OffTracks collects, uses, shares, keeps and deletes information in the Android app and at offtracks.app. Contact us at info@offtracks.app with privacy questions.
Information kept on your device
The Android app uses precise or approximate location to show your position, record rides and follow a loaded track. Rides, tracks, route points, Spots, settings and downloaded content are stored locally. Your sign-in token and account email are stored in protected app storage. OffTracks does not use advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
Account and service information
Signing in is optional. If you sign in, we store your email address, profile and protected session records. We also store content you choose to send to the service: uploaded track geometry and details, Spots, favourites, ratings, reviews, comments and reports. Authentication requests use short-lived codes and one-way hashes for abuse prevention.
Publishing and feedback
Tracks are private unless you publish them. A published track exposes its route, details, Spots and your display name. Reviews and comments are also public with your display name. Feedback is emailed to OffTracks support through our mail provider; the signed-in account email is used as the reply address so we can respond.
Service providers
Our hosting and email providers process data only to operate OffTracks, and we require them to protect it consistently with this policy. Map tile providers receive ordinary network information and the area of the map requested. On the website, Photon uses OpenStreetMap data and receives the place text you search for. Google Play processes store review requests. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and deletion
Live account data remains until you delete the content or account. Sign-in codes and abuse-prevention records are short-lived. Support and feedback correspondence may be kept for up to 90 days. Deleting an account removes its live server data immediately; copies in existing backups expire within 14 days. We retain information longer only when legally required.
Your choices
You can use recording and offline navigation without an account, choose whether each track is public, edit or delete your content, sign out, revoke location permission in Android settings, and delete your account from the app or website. Account deletion does not erase device-only rides and tracks; clear app storage or uninstall OffTracks to remove those copies.
Security and changes
OffTracks uses HTTPS in production, protected sessions and access controls. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy as the service changes and will revise the date above. OffTracks is not directed to children under 13.
